Parklands has trained GP Registrars for over 30 years. We welcome a GP Specialist Training Registrar (GPSTR) in their 3rd year of specialist training to work at the practice, and also those in there 2nd year [FY2]
Our GPSTRs are all well-qualified doctors who are totally capable of autonomous practice, but they are under the educational supervision of a GP Trainer, currently Dr Eric Clarke.
Patients may be seen by any doctor in the practice, including the GPSTRs, and we would expect a top level of service from any and all our doctors. If you have any worries about the nature of your consultation, or the status of the doctor seeing you, please do ask.
We are glad to offer teaching and training within a general practice setting. Whether you are intending on pursuing a career in General Practice or not, we feel that we will be able to provide a positive and friendly educational experience.
- The Day Release scheme is on Thursday afternoons, and there are regular locality GPSTR / Trainer meetings usually on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons.
- Out of Hours experience is gained through Harmoni – the local provider.
- You will have your own room and be expected to take on call duties in line with the other doctors.
